Our outdoor chairs are designed to be left outside year round. In coastal areas, an occasional rinse with fresh water removes salt build-up. In very exposed positions, storing chairs under cover during extended periods of non-use extends the life of the finish, though it's not a requirement.
Powder-coated aluminium is the most maintenance free option, it doesn't rust, doesn't require oiling, and holds its finish across seasons. Solid teak is the most traditional and improves with age. Polypropylene is lightweight, completely weatherproof and UV-stable. All three perform well in Australian conditions, the choice comes down to aesthetic preference and how much upkeep you want.
Yes, all our outdoor dining tables are designed to handle rain. Teak and aluminium drain and dry naturally; fibre cement is non-porous and completely unaffected by water. In very heavy rain, bringing cushions inside is recommended if the table is in an exposed position.
