Return Policy
We believe you'll be delighted with what you buy from us. We also understand that, occasionally, a product may not be quite what you expected. If you change your mind, you may return eligible items within 30 days of the date you received them.
To start a return, please contact us at hello@europeanlifestyle.com.au so we can arrange it. Change-of-mind returns are subject to the following conditions.
Condition of the item
• Only items in as-new condition can be returned. Products with scratches, stains, damage, drilling, assembly marks or any other modification will not be accepted.
• We reserve the right to decline a refund where, in our reasonable opinion, a product has become of unacceptable quality due to fair wear and tear, misuse, or a failure to take reasonable care of it.
Original packaging
• Please return items in their original packaging, which is designed to prevent damage in transit. If the original packaging has been discarded, please use the best protective packaging available.
• A 20% repackaging fee per item applies to items returned without their original packaging.
• We recommend photographing items and their packaging before handing them to our carrier.
Restocking fee
• A flat restocking fee of 20% applies to all change-of-mind returns, regardless of delivery location. The fee is calculated on the line total price of the returned item as shown on your tax invoice, and is deducted from your refund.
Items that cannot be returned for change of mind
We are unable to accept change-of-mind returns, exchanges or refunds for:
• Any item marked as "Clearance" or "Final Sale"
• Display items, floor samples and "As-Is" items
• Any item described as "Customised" or "Customisable", or made to your specifications
• Mattresses and other items excluded on the relevant product page
Your refund
• Delivery fees and any additional service fees are not refundable for change-of-mind returns.
• Refunds are processed within 5 business days after all returned items have been received at our warehouse.
• Where possible, refunds are issued to the original payment method. Where this is not possible, the refund will be made to a valid Australian bank account, where the account holder's name matches the payer's details.
General Terms
1. YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
The rights described in these terms are in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and other applicable consumer protection laws. Nothing in these terms limits, excludes or modifies any right you have that cannot lawfully be limited, excluded or modified.
Where these terms describe limits on returns or refunds, those limits are always subject to your statutory rights.
2. RETURNS FOR FAULTY OR DAMAGED ITEMS
This section is separate from the change-of-mind policy above.
If an item arrives damaged, is faulty, or does not match its description, please contact us at hello@europeanlifestyle.com.au within a reasonable time of delivery. Where possible, include photographs and your order number so we can assist quickly.
Depending on the nature of the issue and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, we will arrange a repair, replacement or refund. Restocking fees, repackaging fees and return shipping costs do not apply to items returned because they are faulty, damaged or not as described.
3. ORDER CHANGES & CANCELLATIONS
If you wish to change or cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible — ideally before your items are dispatched — to avoid additional charges.
- Before dispatch: we will make the change or cancellation at no cost.
- After dispatch: a change or cancellation is treated as a change-of-mind return and the 20% restocking fee, plus any repackaging fee, in Section 2 applies.
We are unable to accommodate changes, cancellations or refunds for Clearance, Final Sale, display, "As-Is", customised or made-to-order items.
If you cancel an order and place a new one, a new estimated delivery date will apply from the date of the new purchase.
Cancellations where a discount voucher was used
If you cancel one or more items in an order that had a discount voucher applied, your refund reflects only the final price paid after the discount. The discount is apportioned across items in proportion to their value: (line item price ÷ total order value) × voucher value.
The full value of a voucher is not re-issued or re-apportioned to remaining items after a partial cancellation. Discount codes and vouchers are single-use and cannot be transferred or reused.
4. PRICES, PAYMENT & GST
All prices on our website and in our showroom are in Australian dollars and include GST.
We accept payment by Credit Card, American Express, and PayPal. You agree to pay all taxes payable in connection with your purchase.
Full payment is required when you place your order. Where you choose a buy-now-pay-later provider (such as Zip, Klarna or Afterpay), your arrangement with that provider is subject to that provider's own terms and conditions. We are not bound to accept an order until payment has been received in full. You confirm that the payment method used is your own and that sufficient funds are available. We may verify your payment details before processing your order.
5. PRICING ERRORS & PRICE CHANGES
We reserve the right to change the prices of products displayed at any time, and to correct any pricing errors that may inadvertently occur — including after you have placed an order. If a pricing error affects your order, we will contact you before proceeding, and you may choose to continue at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
6. ORDER ACCEPTANCE & CONFIRMATION
When you place an order, you will receive an email confirming that we have received it. This confirmation does not constitute our acceptance of your order — it confirms receipt only.
We may, at our discretion, decline or cancel any order, limit order quantities, or request additional information before accepting an order. If we cancel an order after you have been charged, we will refund the amount billed.
By submitting an order, you agree to the terms and conditions current at the date of your order. We recommend reviewing these terms each time you place an order.
7. DELIVERY
Please refer to our Delivery page for information on how and when your order will arrive.
Once your order leaves our facilities, delivery may be affected by events beyond our control. While we cannot be held liable for delays once an order is with the carrier, we will work with you to ensure a smooth delivery. You will receive a shipment notification with tracking details once your order is dispatched.
Delivery to some locations may be limited or subject to additional charges. Delivery options and any restrictions are shown at checkout.
8. PRODUCT INFORMATION
We aim to describe all products accurately and rely in part on information provided by our suppliers. Occasionally our website may contain errors, and we reserve the right to correct any inaccuracies at any time, including after an order is placed.
Many of our products are made from natural materials or are finished by hand. Small variations in grain, colour, texture and finish are characteristic of these materials and are not defects. Colours may also appear differently across screens and displays; this is not a fault.
We may update website content at any time and, if necessary, suspend or restrict access to the website.
9. PROMOTIONAL VOUCHERS
From time to time we may issue promotional vouchers, which can be redeemed in accordance with the specific terms stated on them.
- Vouchers are valid only for the period stated, can be redeemed once, and cannot be used in conjunction with other offers unless stated otherwise.
- Only one promotional voucher may be used per order.
- Vouchers have no cash value and do not accrue interest.
- If an order is for less than the voucher value, no residual credit or refund is provided.
- Where multiple products are purchased using a voucher and one or more are returned, the discount is applied pro rata across items when calculating refund values.
10. DISPLAY & "AS-IS" ITEMS
Display items, floor samples and items sold "As-Is" may have cosmetic imperfections and may not appear brand new. The discounted price reflects this. By purchasing these items, you acknowledge their condition.
Display and "As-Is" items are not eligible for any other promotion, sale, discount or offer, and are not eligible for change-of-mind returns.
11. WARRANTY
In addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, our products are covered by a 3-year warranty from the date of delivery against defects in materials and workmanship under normal domestic use.
This warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, damage caused by misuse, accident, or failure to follow care instructions, the natural variation and ageing of natural materials, or items used in a commercial setting unless stated otherwise.
To make a warranty claim, please contact us at hello@europeanlifestyle.com.au with your order number and photographs of the issue. The benefits of this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies available to you under the Australian Consumer Law.
12. GENERAL
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, it will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your purchase are those published on the date you place your order.
