Choosing a TV unit or media storage

Our TV units are available in solid oak, walnut and lacquered finishes. Several models also feature a combination of materials, an oak carcass with a ceramic-effect or marble-look top surface. The specific options are listed on each product page. Our team can advise on which finish works best with your existing room.

Our TV units are freestanding. If you prefer a fully wall-mounted media setup, a dedicated floating shelf or wall bracket paired with a low storage unit below is a very effective combination. Our team can advise on compatible options if this is the look you're after.

Yes, our TV units include discreet cable management in the form of apertures or channels in the back or side panels, allowing cables to be routed out of sight. The specific cable management design varies by model and is noted in the product description. A tidy cable setup makes a significant difference to how the whole arrangement looks.

The ideal position places the centre of your screen at eye level when seated, typically 100–110cm from the floor. This is usually lower than people expect, and lower than most TVs are mounted in practice. A low TV unit at 40–50cm height, combined with a screen of standard size, typically lands in the right zone.

Measure your TV diagonally and allow at least 15cm on each side for visual breathing room. A 65-inch TV is approximately 144cm wide, so a unit of at least 160–180cm works best. Width is more important than height for most flat-screen setups. A unit that's too narrow makes the TV look precarious and the room feel unbalanced.

Yes, a low sideboard of the right height can serve as a TV unit. Check that the height places the screen at a comfortable viewing level from your sofa, the centre of the screen should be approximately 100–110cm from the floor when seated. Also confirm there is adequate ventilation for media equipment in the cupboard space.
