The Designer

Hélèna Pille

Trained in applied arts and a lover of wood, Hélèna Pille began her career at Sylvain Joly Design before joining the Habitat studio in 2011. Since then she has designed close to 20 collections for the brand, becoming a defining figure in Habitat's creative DNA. Drawn to architecture and fine materials, she imagines furniture that is enduring and functional, with a preference for well-considered storage and clean lines. Among her iconic collections are Ivoine, a solid oak collection with a minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired design, and Camus, an elegant bookcase that has become a house reference. Today she also designs the Milord collection, inspired by bas-relief and Mediterranean architecture, where sculpted volumes meet formal restraint.

The Camus collection

Set it low beneath a window or beside a sofa where you want storage that does not interrupt sightlines. Combine it with the taller Camus bookcase to build a stepped composition that plays with height and visual weight. Keep the lower shelves practical with woven baskets or linen-lined boxes, and let the upper surfaces breathe with a few well-chosen books and objects that deserve attention.
